About Abbey
Since her undergraduate work in cultural anthropology and her time spent as a research assistant at the Fox Chase Cancer Center, Abbey has had a deep interest and drive to learn the art of healing. Motivated by the same adventurous spirit that can find her climbing rugged mountains and practicing martial arts, Abbey sought out her own path to health and medicine.
Abbey began her exploration of Oriental Medicine with a two-year certification in Shiatsu massage. Since then she has honed her skills by earning her Masters of Science in Oriental Medicine at Tri-State College of Acupuncture, where she is currently faculty. Abbey is nationally certified in Oriental Medicine and practices at Life In Balance Acupuncture in Downtown Manhattan.
Abbey is committed to a path of life-long learning. As a continuation of her formal training she has completed post-graduate seminars in Dermatology and Chinese Orthopedic Massage. She is continually inspired by the long tradition of Chinese Medicine, which requires the practitioner to develop self-cultivation in order to help others. It is because of Chinese Medicine that Abbey can honestly say her own life is more in balance.
